Take care of it
A new tattoo is an open wound. Follow these steps and it will heal clean and hold its detail for years.
Keep the wrap on for 2–4 hours, or as your artist advised. It protects the fresh tattoo while it settles.
Remove the wrap, wash gently with lukewarm water and a fragrance-free soap. Pat dry with a clean paper towel — never rub.
Apply a thin layer of a recommended healing balm 2–3 times a day. Less is more — the skin needs to breathe.
Expect light peeling and flaking over the first two weeks. Don't pick or scratch. Let it fall on its own.
No pools, saunas, baths or direct sun for 2–3 weeks. Keep the area out of friction and tight clothing.
Once healed, protect it with sunscreen. UV is the main reason tattoos fade — a small habit keeps the work sharp.
